A Bit About me

You are probably curious about my life experiences and professional training. Understanding both will help you decide if together we can create a good atmosphere for you to explore. Having a sense of ease and connection with the person helping guide you is one of the most important decisions you will make in this process.

And, if you would like to meet me in a different way, here’s a link to a recent podcast hosted by the wonderful astrologer and “weaver of context” Caroline Casey. The Visionary Activist show is broadcast on KPFA and chatting with Caroline highlights the unexpected but synergistic delights of conversation in the flow. Enjoy!

I had several early and rather explosive experiences with non-ordinary states of consciousness that set the stage for my life-long curiosity about why these experiences are meaningful and how they can be transformationally integrated into one's daily life. I'm also interested in the intersectionality between personal experience, family dynamics and cultural as well as global contexts. As a result of my direct experience, I came to appreciate the importance of being an advocate for the "unseen" worlds of experience beyond consensus reality.

Following these powerful early experiences, I was drawn to read all the books I could find on PSI phenomenon, spirituality and metaphysics. The Seth Material, and the works of Ken Wilbur and Carl Jung were particularly influential. I practiced with tarot and began to experience other intuitive openings.

Years later I discovered Reiki and the human energy field and studied with Carol Sabick Quinn to become a Reiki Master. Eventually, she asked me to take over teaching her classes in Virginia as she became more deeply involved in the administration of The Monroe Institute.

A series of synchronistic events led me to study the Shamanic worldview of the interrelatedness of life. Nature herself became one of my most consistent and generous teachers. And, because hypnosis had been an extremely positive force in my own growth, I decided to pursue instruction at one of the best schools with the most rigorous training in the country, the Hypnotherapy Academy of America, then located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Gradually it became clear that I wanted to dedicate my life to working with others in a healing way and I consciously chose the path that had been shown to me so long ago in those early formative experiences.

Since then, personal experience and study have expanded and refined the range of my intuitive abilities, allowing me greater access to information contained not only in a client’s energy field but also in the quantum web which surrounds and interpenetrates us all. I often find that sharing this personalized imagery with my clients draws them more deeply into the power of their own healing journey.

My study intensives have included training at Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) in Virginia Beach with Henry Reed and Carol Ann Liaros, and certification in Life Between Lives Regression methods with Alan and Dee Chips. My core shamanic studies have spanned a variety of traditions with many teachers and have been particularly enriched through alliance with the Q'ero precepts of indigenous Peruvian Shamanism.

Most recently I have delved deeply into Process Work – a neo Jungian approach to unfolding the flow of life with an emphasis on awareness, curiosity, and non-judgement from a quantum perspective. I am a graduate of the Institute’s 2-year Certificate and 4-year Master’s Programs in Process Work. As part of my studies, I have also reconnected with my "inner scientist" and renewed my interest in research with a particular focus on frontier research into the effects of Process Work methods on the quantum field. Interested in some light reading? You are welcome to read my thesis paper which is available here for download.

I have a particular interest, affinity and success in exploring non-ordinary states of consciousness, evolving creativity, spiritual awakening and integrating difficult experiences – both long-term and episodic – with my clients. Whether you seek short-term, solution-focused interventions or longer-term exploration, I welcome the opportunity to hear from you.

I am a Fellow of the International Board of Hypnotherapy, certified by the Process Work Institute and MARI Creative Resources for Psychological Assessment. Currently I also serve on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Process Oriented Psychology, the worldwide association of certified Process Work practitioners.
